Cessna has been known to push the envelope when it comes to designing and manufacturing planes for private jet buyers and with this Cessna Citation XLS+, they have surely upped the ante. The Citation XLS+ or simply “Plus” is the upgraded version of the reliable Citation XLS which is also the upgraded version of the very popular Citation Excel. The XLS+ has an upgraded cockpit, full-authority digital engine controls or FADEC, more comfortable interior, and a sleeker exterior.
The XLS+ appeal starts with its exterior design. The redesigned nose of the jet gives it a more aggressive look and at the same time increased its efficiency in gliding through the air. The wings ha a straight-forward design, a straight one, which gives the pilot complete control of the aircraft. This makes it possible for the XLS+ to navigate runways as short as 3,560 feet. With 80 cubic feet space, the Plus officially has the biggest external baggage compartment in its class which is saying a lot as the Citation XLS+ is competing in a stacked class.
Built by Cessna, one can be sure that the XLS+ is made from rigorously tested parts. The company has been known to test aircraft parts to stresses five times the real toll a lifetime of use would take on the parts. All these testing are done to make sure that each Citation XLS+ owner can fly in comfort and style safely. With Citation jets combining for 20 million miles of flight, it is easy to see that all the precautions and tests done have not been in vain.
