The Embraer Legacy 650 is designed to have superior range compared to its sibling, the Legacy 500 which in its own right has a lot of range too. By making changes to the Legacy 650 in terms of its design and the system it uses, the Legacy 650 is sure to be a good choice for businessmen who need to travel over long distances at any given time.
One of the best selling points of the Legacy 650 is that apart from being a long-range jet, it is also a heavy lifter with plenty of room in the cabin. That said, the Legacy 650 can carry up to 14 passengers along with one flight attendant. Charter operators are excited about this Legacy 650 since this is the least expensive jet which can carry that many passengers over long distances. At the same time, private jet buyers would also love the Legacy 650 for its spacious cabin with luxurious amenities thrown in. There would also be options available for the buyers to fully customize the design of the cabin.
The first units of the Legacy 650 are expected to be delivered late 2010 and Rolls-Royce Indianapolis was contacted to design the turbofan engines that would power this latest installment of the Legacy from Embraer. Said company is looking to make a variant of the already potent AE 3007 turbofan which would provide plenty of power for the Legacy 650 to handle its bulk. Also, designs were drawn up to increase the fuel capacity of the Legacy 650.
