Simply put, the Westwind is aimed for individuals or businesses looking for an aircraft with a bit of everything. It has excellent range to go with equally excellent speed. The Westwind can also carry up to eight passengers. The Westwind was designed in by Aero Commander as an upgrade of the Aero Commander 1121 Jet Commander.
At the rear of this jet is a 4-seat club configuration with fully articulating seats. This allows for maximum comfort when travelling. A rearward facing seat near the cabin door is also a feature of this jet along with a 3-person sideways seating. The Westwind’s lavatory is fully enclosed and can be found at the rear part of the cabin. Entertainment on board is provided by two DVD players with Bose headsets. The Westwind II can travel up to a range of up to 2,400 nautical miles or 4,445 kilometers. With that range, the Westwind would be a great choice for leaders on the go. Powering this aircraft is the job of two Garrett TFE731 turbofan engines each producing 3,700 pounds of force each. The same type of engine can be found on jets like the Lear 36, Falcon 900 and Hawker 800. The aerodynamic design of its fuselage and unique wing design allows the aircraft to optimize the power produced by these engines. The Westwind is also known to have one of the lowest maintenance costs in it class.
